Welcome to all the 2nd year Advanced students at the EOI Pontevedra, A Estrada section, Valle-Inclán section and Lalín section.

This blog has been designed with the aim of complementing your lessons with extra material we'd like to use in the classroom but we can't due to lack of time. So it will be a kind of self-study room for you.

You can practise listening, reading and writing, as well as meeting new people who are at your same level and school.

So don't be lazy or shy. Make comments and enjoy... because English is FUNtastic, isn't it?

VOTING AGE

Over 1.5 million 16 and 17 year olds are currently denied the vote in the UK; for years, they've wanted the opportunity to have their say.
Last Feb 11th, many young people from around Ireland attended NYCI's Vote@16 youth conference.
But Argentina's Congress is about to vote to lower voting age by two years:

What's your poisition on this issue? Should voting age be lowered to 16? Are people this age mature enough to vote?

MONARCHY vs REPUBLIC

Last news about our monarchy have caused quite a stir on society and mass media. And if that weren't enough, the Spanish king's "slip" had a coincidence with the Republic proclamation anniversary.

RECOMMEND A BOOK!

Everybody enjoys a good read and much more so when you know beforehand what the book is about and whether someone else has enjoyed it or not. Besides, reading is one of the best activities for students of foreign languages to enlarge their vocabulary and often the most readily-available way to keep in touch with the language.

So why don’t you write telling us about what you have been reading lately and about your impressions on your book of choice?
